In 1923, a cooperative weaving mill was established in Bergeijk, specialising in household textiles. The company was named De Ploeg because this was seen as a symbol of breaking new ground in the world of textiles.
In the 1950s, De Ploeg became one of the pioneers of the ’Goed Wonen‘ movement, which sought to create modern and functional interiors featuring clean-lined designs, bright colours and high quality.
Since then, De Ploeg has continued to develop and has become a pioneer in the field of sustainable textile production.
Many fabrics are still made from natural materials. Today, De Ploeg is an internationally oriented company renowned for its timeless designs and beautiful, high-quality fabrics. One of De Ploeg’s best-known fabrics is Ploegwool, a timeless woollen upholstery fabric.
